How Oyiwa works
Oyiwa is not a database of criminals. A report is a claim, not a verdict — we separate what people report, what the public web says, and what official records show, and we label each accordingly.
Search
Search a person, business, website, username, course, phone number, or email. Oyiwa uses fuzzy matching so partial names and identifiers still resolve to the right entity.
Entity resolution
Different online identities — a name, a domain, an email, a social handle — may represent the same real-world entity. Oyiwa computes an explainable confidence score for potential matches instead of silently merging them.
Investigate
Every profile separates Oyiwa cases (reports reviewed under our moderation policy) from public web intelligence (news, forums, complaints we found online but have not independently verified) and official records (courts, regulators, government agencies).
Decide
Review evidence, sources, and any response from the entity before you transact. Case statuses are always explainable — you can inspect exactly which records produced a given status.
Our terminology
- Report / Complaint / Allegation
- A claim submitted by a user. Not independently verified.
- Case
- One or more related reports that Oyiwa has reviewed under its moderation policy.
- Public reference
- Information found on the public web. Not necessarily verified by Oyiwa.
- Official record
- Information sourced from a government agency, regulator, court, or other authoritative source.
- Resolved / Unresolved
- Whether a case has reached a documented resolution, such as an entity response or refund confirmation.
